On September 24th, 2017, San Diego natives Secrets, stopped by The Loading Dock in Salt Lake City, while on tour with the band, Slaves. Secrets consists of their lead singer and guitarist, Richard Rogers, vocalist Wade Walters, Michael Sherman on guitar and Bassist Connor Branigan.
Secrets, is known for their newest single, "Incredible" as well as their most recent album, "Everything That Got us Here"
I got the opportunity to briefly chat with Richard, about their latest music as well as their band.
They just released "Incredible" with a music video attached to it as well. Curious as to Richards' thoughts and feelings since releasing...
"I'm Stoked on it! Its always nerve-racking releasing something new," he stated. "Its' been spreading super organically and it has almost all positive feedback." Which he says is very rare when they put things out on Youtube.
The music video for Incredible, takes place in a house with two main characters, as well as the band in the background, as Richard told me, The band really like the Foo Fighters.
"Its kind of inspired by their video, "Hero". its like four takes basically. really long shots of the actors and the band tied in. It looks awesome."
Secrets has been on tour with Slaves, for 'The Beautiful Death' tour throughout the country this last bit. They have toured with Jonny Craig before, Richard said. "Its been fun. It's a really relaxing and easy tour."
In 2011, Secrets released their single, "The Heartless Part" and following that, the album 'The Ascent', an EP, Their recent album 'Everything That Got Us Here' and their most recent single 'Incredible" asking how he, (Richard) felt they have grown and changed as a band from 2011 to 2017 I got the very touching response from Richard.
"Overtime we release an album, we've gone through more life. I feel like we didn't write enough personal stuff on, Everything That Got Us Here. So this one, (Incredible) is way more personal. We've gotten closer and learned more about each others lives. Its easier to express ourselves to each other and just write about our lives."
Secrets, have an upcoming headliner tour in Europe this coming November, as well as touring in Japan in December. They as well have a New album coming out in the future that is going to be a "Surprise".
After their Europe and Japan tour, as a band they will be making some big announcements as well.
